Born on May 9, 1958, and originally from Kanagawa Prefecture, he is a guitarist and singer. While still attending university in 1979, he formed the rock ’n’ roll band T.C.R. Yokohama Ginbae R.S. (Yokohama Ginbae) with Ran, Sho, TAKU, and others, making his debut the following year in 1980.
In 1981, he launched his solo career with the single “Like James Dean” (James Dean no Yō ni), which was followed by another hit, “$ Million Baby.” From the mid-1980s onward, he worked as a director and producer at King Records, contributing to releases by a wide range of artists.
In recent years, following Ran’s passing, he stepped down from his position as president of a record company in order to devote himself fully to band activities. He has since made a complete return as a member of Yokohama Ginbae.
